Bengaluru: Fake message attributed to Dr Devi Shetty goes viral after Puneeth's death

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Oct 31: Since the sudden demise of Sandalwood superstar Puneeth Rajkumar due to cardiac arrest, a message attributed to Dr Devi Shetty has been going viral on social media, especially WhatsApp advising people to alter their busy lifestyles.

A report by The Indian Express has confirmed that the message is fake and that Dr Devi Shetty, the chairman and executive director of Narayana Health, had nothing to do with it.

When contacted, Dr Shetty told The Indian Express that it is a fake message and expressed anguish at his name being used to misguide the public.

The message, which claims that celebrities, including Puneeth Rajkumar, died because of "doing too much to be fit", warns against exerting oneself beyond moderate limits and urges people to eat traditional food and not take supplements or resort to special diets.

Here is the entire message:

"Dr Devi Shetty

“For all my friends….

"In the last few years, I have lost at least 8 to 9 people known to me personally, and a few celebrities too, who were in their 40s who died because of doing too much to be “fit”. Unfortunately they only looked fit, six packs and all. Today Puneeth Rajkumar gets added to this list.

"In anything in life, MODERATION is the mantra. Any extreme of zero or 100 is not correct. A moderate amount of exercise, just about 20mins, eating everything, no detoxification or keto moto diets, just eat what your ancestors have been eating, the local and seasonal food in your hometown, not kale, kiwi or olive oil…, but in small quantities, sleeping a full 7 hours, respecting your body by not feeding it steroids, performance enhancement drugs are all that you need to do.

"Just eat all that you ate growing up, in small quantities, exercise for 20mins to 30mins…just a good walk should do perfectly and stop all supplements….if you drink, limit it to a couple of pegs a week, if you absolutely can’t give up smoking, a couple a day .. .you get my drift??? Anything but in moderation. Add a bit of silent meditation to your routine. Most importantly, listen to your body. Understand it.

"By 40 the body is undergoing a lot of changes, 50 even more, 60 plus your body is starting to slow down, 70 plus, your body is starting to shut down, 80 plus every year is a bonus. So, stop saying 60 is the new 40, 50 is the new 30…no it isn’t, if you are 40 or 50 plus, be grateful if you’re healthy, slow down so your heart can keep pace, understand retirement has been suggested for a reason, your body and mind cannot take the stress which you once endured. Outwardly you could be looking good, thank your genes but inside, the organs are aging.

"If you’re 40 + read the above and if you’re doing something other than the above, change it, now!! I’m sure you don’t want to end up as another statistic."

One size shoe doesn't fit all, all have different body types and accordingly their moderate exercise criteria are different too. Another important factor not considered by many doctors and fitness experts is the present rollout of experimental jabs worldwide different varieties have caused blood clots and deaths through strokes and heart attacks in many youngsters who were fit until they got the jabs. Many athletes in their prime suddenly fell down and a few who got timely CPR and medical aid survived. Adverse Vaccine Reactions Reporting system got many reports of teenagers getting myocarditis and pericarditis only acter the jabs. These factors too should be investigated to arrive at true cause of them instead of assumptions and speculations.

I too have received this message but Dr. Devi Shetty's name is nowhere mentioned in it. Whether it's attributed to him or not, I don't find anything wrong in it and it's a useful message.

The name of Modiji causes heart to palpitate in some 7-8% of the populace here in India. Everything in the body seems to shoot up, and in some cases, comments flow like it's un distilled water gushing into the heart, brain and what have you! The body in itself becomes dysfunctional, eyes blurred etc. These are also somewhat concerning signals, for there is no treatment for such heart related phobias as yet.Maintaing equilibrium by accepting reality is a must in such cases. You need not have a Dr Shetty to tell you that. It is common sense. ಅತಿಮ್ ಸರ್ವತ್ರ ವರ್ಜಯೇತ್.... Excess in all cases to be avoided. ಸರ್ವೆ ಸಂತು ಸುಖಿನಃ ಸರ್ವೆ ಸಂತು ನಿರಾಮಯಾಹ.... Let all be blissful and healthy. Let good thoughts prevail.

Message says full minimum 7 years sleep is a must. But if you listen to Modiji, he sleeps just 4 hours. I think one can't generalize these things. Each individual is different.
