Mangaluru: Police arrest man with alleged underworld connections

Mangaluru, Oct 31: Mangaluru city police on Sunday October 31 arrested a 46-year-old man with alleged connection to the underworld.

The police arrested Praveen Kumar, a resident of Kotebagilu under the limits of Moodbidri police station.

According to police sources, they received information that the accused possessed lethal weapons and had connection with the underworld. When the police went to his residence for inquiry, the accused saw the cops and allegedly tried to flee. When the cops tried to detain him, he prevented them from discharging their duty.

The accused also allegedly harmed a police constable. The police finally managed to take him into custody and brought him to police station.

Sources said that Praveen is an accused in a number of cases and was absconding.

The accused has been produced before the court which has sent him to judicial custody.
