Mangaluru: Lightning claims life of 33-year-old man, leaves family orphaned

Mangaluru, Nov 1: In a tragic incident which happened at Ganadabettu Aladka in Harekala village, a married youth lost his life after lightning struck him on the night of Sunday October 31.

The unfortunate youth who was killed in this incident was Abdul Rahiman (33), son of G H Hasanabba from Harekala Aladka. Rahiman was a coolie by profesion.

Rahiman had a cow. At nightfall on Sunday at around 6.45 pm, Rahiman led the cow that had been left in the fields for grazing, back home. As soon as he reached the home with the cow, lightning struck him. He was rushed to hospital but lost his life on the way.

The deceased has left behind wife and two children. One of his children is aged three and the other happens to be a 40-day old baby. The family members were seen wailing inconsolably at the misery that has befallen on them. The post-mortem is scheduled to take place at Kanachur hospital, Deralakatte.

    Really Sad news. cannot imagine the plight of the family to see the man of the family who alive and kicking a moment back is dead with one strike of nature. Life is very unpredictable.     Unexpected rains coupled with lightening & thunder has caused a multiple of loss. People should be alert & and take precautions time to time, as many a times IMD cannot predict and people lose trust with IMD warnings. My heart goes with the deceased and his sorrowful family.
