Mangaluru: Two-year-old sexually harassed, Bihar-origin accused arrested

Mangaluru, Nov 1: A shocking incident, a two-year-old was sexually harassed at Hoigebazar under city South police station limits. The incident came to light on Monday November 1.

Chandan, hailing from Bihar stands arrested regarding the case. The victim and parents hails from Bihar.

It is said that nearly 70 to 80 people with their families from Bihar are working for a company dealing with fish cutting and salting process. There are a few children between the age group of 6 months to 7 years who are being taken care of in a room.

The police received a phone call that a child had drowned. When the police took the child to the hospital, the sexual harassment issue came to light.

It is said gathered that the victim’s parents were out in the city to buy a fan. On returning they found their child missing. After a two-hour search, the child was found in a fish tank in an unconscious state. The child was then rushed to hospital.

The child is out of danger, said police sources.

The accused has been booked for sexual harassment as well as for attempting to murder.
