Karnataka registers 214 new coronavirus cases, fatality rate at 3.27%

Bengaluru, Nov 5: Karnataka on Friday November 5 continued to maintain a steady rate of decline in the number of coronavirus cases, with the state recording 214 new infections.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 8,188. Among the districts, Bengaluru Urban registered the highest number of single-day cases with 118 new infections, while Mysuru reported 25 new cases and Uttara Kannada 11.

A total of 7 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Friday, with Bengaluru Urban, Dakshina Kannada, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mandya, Mysuru and Raichur reporting one each. With this, the toll so far has risen to 38,102.

The state recorded 286 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 29,43,170.

So far, Karnataka has seen 29,89,489 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.26%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 3.27%.

As many as 6,58,88,073 people have received vaccination so far.
