Sullia, Nov 6: In connection with the attack on a 16-year-old boy by a group of ten men, who accused the boy of stealing arecanuts from their plantation, some more details have emerged.
Subrahmanya police have booked the ten persons under section 143, 341, 323, 3 24, 506 and 149 of Indian Penal Code. The incident happened at Kadthal Kaje, Guthigar village, Sullia taluk, at 7 pm on October 27. The report was filed on November 2.
The complaint was filed by the victim, a 16-year-old from Kuvvekody House, Guthigar village, Sullia taluk.
The complainant said he was carrying about 20 to 25 kg arecanut from the farm he had taken on lease on October 27 to Guthigar town to sell the arecanuts when he was stopped by some people known to him at Kadtal Kaje, accusing him of having stolen the arecanuts from the plantation of a person named Ishwar.
Even though the complainant insisted that the nuts were plucked from his own farm, the complainants insisted that the arecanuts were stolen, and besides beating him up severely with hands and a stick, they also tore off the shirt he was wearing. He was also threatened of murder if he comlplained to thie police.
The boy said he filed police complaint with delay as he had acute body pain and also as he was threatened against filing the police complaint.
