Bantwal: Three arrested for sexually harassing minor girl in separate cases

Bantwal, Nov 6: Bantwal rural police have arrested three individuals in two cases of sexual harassment. In both cases, the victim, a minor girl, is the same.

In the first incident, police have arrested an auto rickshaw driver in Farangipete for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl. The arrested accused has been identified as Rizwan.

Police have booked him under section 354 (a) of IPC and column 7 and 8 of POCSO Act. The arrested has been produced before the court which granted him judicial custody.

On November 5, the same victim and her mother, who appeared in Bantwal rural police station filed a sexual assault case against two individuals. In the complaint, it is alleged that the accused Mohammed Kasim and Ajmal Hussain, who got acquainted with the victim five months ago, sexually assaulted her after asking her to come to their place. The accused also allegedly threatened the victim. Hence, police have booked the duo under sections 376(D), 506, and 34 for IPC and 4, 5(g) and 6 of POCSO Act.

The arrest operation was conducted under the guidance of superintendent of police Rishikesh Sonawane, additional SP Dr Shivakumar Gunare, under the direction of Bantwal division DySP Shivanshu Rajput, Bantwal rural inspector T D Nagaraj, PSI Bharathi, trainee PSI Ramakrishna, Veena Ramachandra, ASI Balakrishna, staff Janardhana Suresh, Puneeth, Manoj Kumar, Lolakshi, Vishalakshi.
