Mangaluru/Udupi, Nov 6: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday November 6 reported 15 new infections while Udupi registered 10 new cases. No death was reported in either of the districts.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 21,32,827 samples have been tested so far, out of which 20,17,266 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,561, out of which 179 are currently active.
As many as 22 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,13,693.
The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,689, out of which five are non-Covid deaths. No death was reported on Saturday.
The positivity rate in the district stands at 0.29%.
Even though the cases are declining, the district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,54,670 as fine in 88,617 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,27,301 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 10 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 76,748, out of which 41 are currently active.
Six patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,231.
Among the 10 new patients, five are in home isolation and five have been admitted to Covid-designated hospital.
Udupi reported 9 of the 10 new cases while Kundapur registered one.
Out of the 10, four are asymptomatic and six symptomatic.
Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far. No death was reported on Saturday.
So far, 9,20,071 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 5,42,459 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far, and all have recovered.
