Beltangady: Five grenades found placed near fence at Ilanthila, complaint filed

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Nov 7: In a curious incident, five grenades were found placed near a wire fence at Ilanthila of the taluk.

A case is filed in this regard by Jayakumar Poojary (66), who noticed the grenades.

According to the details, the complainant Jayakumar was walking towards his house from Uppinangady at around 6 pm on Saturday, November 6, when he noticed five things resembling grenades kept near the left hand side of the wire fence that is located on a downward slope area.

Out of the five, one was covered in a yellow plastic, while four others were left scattered on the ground.

As the complainant is a retired SCO of the army, he could identify that these were grenades. Noticing the hazard they may cause, if they are bitten and taken by wild or domestic animals, the complainant took them to the verandah of his house and informed the police.

It is suspected that some unknown miscreants may have placed the grenades deliberately on the path through which the complainant approaches his house. The complainant has urged the police to take suitable action against the culprits.

The grenades are estimated to be around 40 years old. The police have begun an investigation into the source of the grenades and how they came to be placed near the fence.

Some are commenting as if only 'their community' is capable of terrorism !! Now when they know all communities are equally capable of terrorism 'unspoken peace deal' should happen.
