Kaup, Nov 7: In a tragic incident, a soldier from Kalathur here died due to cardiac arrest while on duty on Saturday, November 6 in the north Indian state of Jharkhand.
Naveen Kumar Karkada (50) was a resident of Kalathur Chandranagara Kannadarabettu here. He was a head constable in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Naveen was serving in CISF for the past 29 years. He was due to retire next year from service. He had served in various CISF bases of the country like Bihar, Ranchi, Delhi, Mysuru and Nagpur.
Naveen's mortal remains will be brought to his native place by flight via Kolkata and Mumbai from the CISF base in Jharkhand. His funeral will take place at Padur church on the evening of Sunday, November 7.
Naveen is survived by wife, two sons, two brothers and two sisters.
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, social worker Suresh P Shetty Gurme, various dignitaries, people representatives, officials and representatives of local bodies have expressed their condolences on the untimely and sudden demise of Naveen.
