Mangaluru/Udupi, Nov 9: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, November 9 reported 21 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 4 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 21,47,736 samples have been tested so far, out of which 20,32,133 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,603 out of which 136 are currently active.
As many as 27 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,690.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,57,570 as fine in 88,646 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,33,596 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 4 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 76,762 out of which 42 are currently active.
A total of 5 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,20,285 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 5,46,757 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
