Kundapur, Nov 11: A man and his wife had suffered serious injuries after an explosion happened inside a car shed recently in Beloor village and both had suffered grievous injuries. Both were admitted into Manipal hospital. The husband, Dinesh Shetty, resident of Dhanyadi Hebbagilu House in Beloor Padumundu, succumbed to his injuries without responding to treatments. The condition of his wife Vasanthi Shetty, continues to be critical.
The blast had happened inside the car shed attached to Dinesh Shetty's residence due to the explosion of some explosives stored therein. Dinesh Shetty's body was partially charred in the incident. The light on the roof of the car sit out and light and switches in the wall were burnt due to the heat created by the blast. The glass of the kitchen window next to the car shed had developed cracks and things kept in the car shed had partially burnt. The outer portion of the car was also burnt.
Dinesh Shetty and Vasanthi Shetty, who suffered severe burn injuries, were admitted into KMC Hospital Manipal. Dinesh Shetty, who was battling for life, failed to respond to treatments and his end came on Wednesday.
Domesh Shetty, who was the president of the managing committee of Beloor Delattu Mahalingeshwara temple, was involved with many social service activities. He is survived by wife, and two daughters. Many dignitaries from in and around his native place have mourned his death.
