Udupi, Nov 11: A man filed a complaint against a bus staff for insulting and slapping him here.
Ananth Naik (54), resident of Kubri House, Shivapura village in Hebri taluk who currently resides near Karavali Bypass Udupi had visited the supermarket on Malpe road along with friend, Sanjeeva Shetty, on November 9 evening.
At 7.25 pm, he was crossing the road near Karavali bus stand in Moodanidamboor village when a private bus bearing registration no. KA20-4288 came that way. The bus driver was reportedly driving the bus at high speed and recklessly. Sanjeeva Shetty, showing a very good presence of mind, somehow saved Ananth Naik from the prospects of getting crushed under the bus wheels.

The bus conductor who got down from the bus, came to the spot, scolded Ananth Naik with abusive words, and insulted him by strongly slapping him on the face, it is said.
On the basis of a complaint filed in this connection, the town police station personnel have registered a case under sections 279, 323 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code.
