Udupi, Nov 15: “We have no objection to former MLA Pramod Madhwaraj joining BJP. But he cannot be taken in the party all of a sudden,” said BJP district president Suresh Nayak Kuilady.
Speaking to reporters during a news conference held in Kidiyoor on Monday, November 15, he said, “Madhwaraj has publicly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the award selection during the welcome programme of Padma Vibhushan award posthumously awarded to Pejawar Swamiji.
“Madhwaraj has begun accepting the goodness of BJP and the leaders. While Madhwaraj should decide if he wants to come to BJP or not, we will think whether he should come into our fold. We have previous experience of him saying that a calf will follow if a cow goes ahead. We do not understand his mentality.
“We welcome him if he comes to accept our principles. But we are unable to do anything if there are frequent changes in his mindset. There should be discussions with local activists and leaders if he has to be taken in the party. Our activists might also have hurt him. We do not oppose his arrival, but our senior leaders should take a decision. The entire matter should be discussed,” he said.
