Mangalore: Lourdes Central School Celebrates Annual Sports Day with Zest

Mangalore, Nov 12: “Sports plays a pivotal role in the over-all development of children. Hence with the cooperation of parents and hard work of children and teachers, the management of Lourdes Central School(LCS) has been taking keen interest towards in arranging the annual sports each year”, said Grace Noronha, principal of the school.


She was speaking at the 12th annual sports meet of the school named ‘I am the sports Star’ held at LCS Grounds on Friday Nov 12.
 
Sanjeev Kumar Hanchate, district and sessions judge, Mangalore was the chief guest. He said that he was overwhelmed to observe the discipline among children during the event and added that blessings can also be sought through children as they are equal to god.
 
Clifford Joshua, officer, corporation bank was the guest of honor. Fr Victor Machado, manager, LCS presided and called upon the students to keep up the same sportive spirit.

The winning team in March Past event 'Jade' was awarded on the occasion. Ivan D’Souza, advocate and Veerendra Alva, convener of the programme among others were present. The dazzling display of dances by the KG children enthralled  the gathering.
