Beltangady: ‘I Was Offered Rs 100 crore to Shift Loyalty,’ – MLA

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Nov 16: Local MLA, K Vasant Bangera (Congress), regretted that the respectability and reliability of people’s representatives is becoming a laughing stock of late. “Now-a-days, people refuse to trust the people’s representatives because of declining values. The ruling party had offered Rs 100 crore to me to change my loyalty,” he claimed.

He was speaking after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for various schemes being undertaken within the jurisdiction of Ujire gram panchayat and Ujire zilla panchayat constituency worth Rs 3.3 crore, at a function held at Halepete school premises on Monday November 15.

He said that the legislators are being sold like dogs in Bangalore. He urged the MLAs to retract their ways and make ammends to their behaviours, failing which, he warned that the people may chase them away whenever they are sighted.

The function was presided over by zilla panchayat member, E Sundar Gowda. Taluk panchayat member, Vasant Poojary, irrigation department officer, Narayan Poojary, panchayat secretary, Prakash Shetty, school headmaster, Tarakesari, and others were present.

Well, frankly speaking i have no knowledge about Mr.Bangera, but from the comments from others i can gather that his statement smells of 'attempt for political weightage' OR
He is giving a hint to the possible bidder, what is his first & minimum bid. All the best Mr.Bangera keep your fingers crossed. You may succeed, because there is lot of looted money floating arround. A crore is nothing for them.

“Mr. Bangera, we all know the fact that you have been offered something, for your well-known habit of shifting loyalty, but 100Cr is little exaggerated figure, if you can reduce a little bit we are willing to believe. I feel bidding for your loyalty started from 50 lakhs and did not reach the peak of your expectation or simple English your rate. By then someone else accepted the offer given by BJP and you lost. Never mind, you will get plenty of opportunities as long as BJP is in power. If you want to succeed in getting money there is one negotiator in this forum please contact him”.

100 crores is easily provided from scams of the projects that this MLA would get if he joined the other party. Corruption is so common - politicians shift parties for scam money like fodder scam, flood relief scam, building scam, CWG scam... Bangera is telling Congress he wants some scam money otherwise he would join BJP. This is really shameless.

100 crores!!! This amount might have been offered to this MLA as a contract to shift the loayalty for 5 to 10 MLA's.

During my college days, there was a big news that Belthangady BJP MLA Vasanth Bangera has been kidnapped and he was missing for a few days! Then, he reappeared with unshaved beard and claimed in the media that opposite party put mental pressure and hence he had to change loyalty. Then, there was pressure from his family not to change loyalty, etc.etc. Afterwards I lost track of politics. Now I understand from these comments that he changed his loyalty twice to different political parties!!

Dear friends, can anybody let us know if this is the same person???

If yes, he is a "Rakhi Sawant" and he just fools the electorate as sinple as that!!

Mr Nagesh Nayak…which world are you living in…don’t you know what’s happening around in our state…are you stupid or chosen to be stupid?
Who is blaming whom? ...and by the way whom are you blaming? ...Be sensible/wise/true to your mother land citizen…thinking as a simple voter…what are you getting back from the ruling government for your valuable vote?
Democracy is a political form of government in which governing power is derived from the people and for the people…it’s basically the rule of the people…
Now we are people…but what are we doing Mr Nagesh Nayak?
You are debating/justifying/promoting on the governments deeds here on the public site…democratically you have allowed this government to work for the wellbeing of your state…tell me, how has the state/you been benefited as a voter?
For example, in a representative democracy, every vote has equal weight, no restrictions can apply to anyone wanting to become a representative, and the freedom of its citizens is secured by legitimized rights and liberties which are generally protected by a constitution…are all voters in this democracy protected? ... Are minority rights safe-guarded?
There are several varieties of democracy, some of which provide better representation and more freedoms for their citizens than others. However, if any democracy is not carefully legislated – through the use of balances – to avoid an uneven distribution of political power, such as the separation of powers, then a branch of the system of rule could accumulate power thus become undemocratic.

Mr Nagesh Nayak, The question of knowing how many zero’s in a crore is the most stupid one from you…do you really think there are people in India who would not know it?...

Dear Bangera, If my memory serves me correct you were first in BJP, then in JDS and now in Congress. Can you please tell us why did you change the parties so many times? Is not this for power and money? If you had been offered 100 crores (say supposedly by BJP) during those turbulant days when the survival of BJP government was threatened you should have broken this news then & there. Why did you wait so long to make this public now?

This speaks for itself. People can judge what you would have done if you had been really offered 100 crore!!! With 100 crore in hand (bribe money in hand) you would have thought about your people in the constituency, thier well being etc??? Rubbish. You are also talking of values, principles, probity in public life? All Rubbbish.

Few years back this guy Vasanth Bangera had tough fight in the election with his brother Prabhakar Bangera from opposite party. To gain public symapthy, he spoke in some speaches stressing people not to vote for his brother, & in case they vote for his brother, his father would not get peace. Ultimately his speach bounced back & he lost to his brother Prabhakar Bangera.
So these statements is something similar to the past on & has no value. Definetly he is now trying to attract the history results.
