Mangalore: Elaborate Arrangements for Bakrid Celebration on Nov 17

Mangalore, Nov 16: The holy festival of Muslims, Bakrid (Id-ul-zuha), is being celebrated in the twin-districts on Wednesday November 17. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Eid Namaz and Khutuba on this occasion.

Eid-ul-zuha namaz and Khutuba will be conducted under the guidance of Mangalore Kazi, Twaka Ahmed Musliyar, at 8 am at the Idgah masjid in Light House Hill here. This was stated in a release, by Haji Y Abdulla Kunhi, president of Masjid Zeenat Bash and Idgah Jumma Masjid.

Khateeb Alhaji Abdul Ravoor Musliyar will lead the namaz and Khutuba at 10 am at Ullal central Jumma Masjid. President of the Dargah, Haji Kanachur Monu, said that a procession will be taken to the Dargah premises from Kotepura and Alekala jumma masjid at 8.30 am.

Eid namaz will be held at 7.30 am at Al Phurkhan Centre of Phurkhan Ismamic English Medium School in Puttige near Moodbidri. The namaz at Bangre will be led by Zakir T P at Anas Bin Malik jumma Masjid. In both these mosques, places have been allotted for women to be able to take part in the celebrations, releases from these two mosques said.

Eid namaz will be held at 8.30 am at Bolangady mosque, and at 7.45 am at Masjidul Huda in Tokkottu. While the namaz at Bolangady will be led by Moulana Yahya Tangal, the namaz at Tokkottu will be led by Muhammed Kunhi. In these two mosques too, facilities have been provided for the women to take part in the namaz.

South Karnataka Salafi Movement has also made arrangements to hold namaz at various places at 7.30 am.

    I wish all our friends in Daijiworld a very happy Eid al-Adha or "Eid-u'z-Zuha" or "Festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid" or “Bakrid” and we Muslims observes it after the conclusion of the Pilgrim of Hajj at Makkah, near Jeddah in West Saudi Arabia. Eid al-Adha is celebrated annually on the 10th day of the last Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah (i.e. twelfth month of the lunar Islamic calendar)
