Udupi: CM Yeddyurappa Announces Development Plans for District

Report & Pics: Hemanath Padubidri
Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (RD)

Udupi, Nov 17:
Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was in the distict here on Wednesday November 17 to participate in a programme to distribute sarees and bonds under the Bhagyalaxmi scheme to beneficiaries.

The programme, along with a health checkup camp held under Bhagyalaxmi Yojana was held at Mahatma Gandhi sports ground, Ajjarkad.

On the occasion, Yeddyurappa said that the bond certificates will be distributed to 11.50 lac families in the state under the Yojana. Udupi is the twenty-first district in the state to implement the project, while other districts will be covered shortly, said CM Yeddyurappa.

Yeddyurappa emphasized that the distribution programme is a state programme and not undertaken by the BJP. Had the opposition parties who create uproar in the legislative assembly over equality and social justice implemented the Yojana 25 years ago, drastic changes would have taken place in the society. The opposition parties are neither interested in development nor do they take active role in the discussion on the issue in the assembly, he alleged.

The CM assured that sufficient funds will be allotted by the state administration for the progress of undivided Dakshina Kannada district in the remaining two-and-a-half-years of his term.

Yeddyurappa announced the allotment of Rs 4 crore for laying a synthetic track at the district stadium. The minor culverts in the district will be developed at a cost of Rs 8 – 10 crore. Solar lamps will be provided to the residents living in remote villages that have no access to electricity supply. A sum of Rs 25 crore will be released by Udupi town council for developing infrastructure, he informed.

MLC Raghupati Bhat presided over the programme.

District-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya, women and child welfare minister C C Patil, zilla panchayat president Gladys D’Almeida, Third Financial Commission chairman A G Kodgi, MLCs Captain Ganesh Karnik and Kota Srinivas Poojary, former state minister B Nagaraj Shetty, MP D V Sadanand Gowda, MLAs Lalaji Mendon and Laminarayan, town councilor Kiran Kumar, Udupi Development Authority chairman Sudhakar Shetty, Udupi taluk panchayat president Shyamala Sudhakar, Karkala taluk panchayat president Uday Kotian, deputy commissioner Hemalata, district-in-charge secretary Ramesh Jalaki, Fisheries Marketing Federation chairman Yashpal Suvarna and others were present.

Nagesh Nayak, Bangalore, please refer Kaveri junction, go to Majestic bus stand and assess the deficiencies. Don’t try to share credit for other’s work. All the projects you have mentioned are initiated much earlier. Write all the projects initiated by this government if anyone is taken off. Road widening is regular up gradation of the work. I have seen some magic boxes of very inferior quality such construction can only be approved by such inferior government which has no standard. Let us see the quality of Hebbal -Yelhanka elevated highway, which started of during BSY tenure.

It's so silly that the CM is needed to distribute sarees and other items. Just distribute money to the poor and they will purchase whatever is necessary. All know that there is a money racket in purchasing things. It is high time govt is held accountable for the money wasted and resources looted. No matter which party has formed the govt, we need to have a mechanism whereby politicians are scrutinized. Unfortunately there is no difference between a politician and looter.
Nagesh maam should know that already KARNATAKA has secured NO.1 POSITION IN CORRUPTION.

Yeddyurappan's days are counted, BJP high command is seriously thinking about changing the leadership in Karnataka, as Yeddy is involved in so many scams, Ishwarappa too is part of it. To divert public attention Yeddy is busy in announcing so many development plans for the public which will never materialize, Yeddy has developed his own family by illegally allotting lands to his son’s n daughters. (Bap ka Mal) HDK will make him wear a saree soon.

I think we shouldnot panic to say Mr. Yeddi is corrupt. Let any authorised body to disclose this. If he found guilty he has to resign and make the way for investigation. But just by looking at media and opposition we shouldnot come to a conclusion that this government is corrupt. Because our opposition are unprofessional, we can understand JDS but in congress also now nobody there to call professionals. One can see the abusive words they are unsing at the government.
In case of centre CAG disclosed such a big scam which nobody can digest. Dont compare this with state. We the people should decide who is corrupt and who is not.

It looks for funny and Mr. CM is fooling the citizens very nicely. We must watch and see the people who got this saree, how many days they are able to wear it. I think not more than two or three times. What is the fun giving saree when many people not able to stitch the blouse for that saree? Why the CM must to come for this? It is great waste of money on spending for security. Mr. C.M. must do his responsibility job and he can finish thousands of file which are held in his office. This type of job should be done by the DC in each district. DC must distribute the benefits to the persons based on eligibility, who suppose must get it. Our CM and his team is so stupid and useless they never bothered that every citizen is spending money for their tour and safety issues. We are paying the tax for development of the country not the leaders to enjoy. We must stop this type of expenditure which is really useless to the citizens.

    Yedurappa is a genius.
Misappropriate Land and Funds to the tune of crores.
Donate part of the money to temples - his GOD is happy.
People of Karnataka are poor and illiterate - Give a saree or mundu and you are forgiven.
Just before elections distribute liquor - your seat is assured.
No one in the BJP has the guts to take action against him.
BJP is truly a party with a difference.
