Mangalore: Miss & Mr Konkani World Contest at World Convention

Mangalore, Nov 18: Entries for the Miss Konkani Photogenic and Mr Konkani Photogenic contests being organized by Kalaangann will end in a week. Interested unmarried Konkani youth in the age group of 18 to 25 years, living in any part of the world, are eligible to register themselves for this contest. For registration, they need to send their portrait photographs (chest above) of 300 dpi resolution to mandd_sobhann@yahoo com so as to reach the addressee before November 25, 2010.

The winners of the contests will be given attractive prizes on November 18 during the Vishwa Konkani Yuva Mell being held at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, Mangalore, the organizers said.

Miss Konkani World and Mr Konkani World contests are also being held simultaneously. Those who have registered their names for the photogenic contests are also eligible to compete in these contests.

Contestants under these heads will have to appear on stage for the following two rounds:

1. Traditional (Konkani/Indian) round
2. Western dress round.

Beauty, personality, and smartness (in answering simple questions) of the contestants will be evaluated to decide the winners. The organizers said that all the contestants need to maintain utmost dignity and decency in their attire, speech and behaviour.

Interested candidates need to register their names before November 25, 2010 for earning qualification to compete, the organizers have reiterated.
