Gurugram DTCP to check OC in phased manner

Gurugram, Nov 29 (IANS): Following complaints against people who are involved in illegal construction after getting the occupation certificate (OC) in the licensed colonies, the district town and country planning (DTCP) department of Gurugram has decided that after giving the OC, the first inspection would be done after 10 days and the second after 45 days.

The move is aimed at preventing alteration or additional construction after getting the occupation certificate.

District Town Planner, RS Bhatt said, "It has come to light that after getting the occupation certificate from the department, some persons are involved in the illegal construction. In connection with the matter, an FIR has been registered against them and about 50 occupation certificates have also been cancelled recently."

Bhatt after attending a meeting with the deputy commissioner on Monday also informed that rules are being violated by constructing several floors on the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) plots in DLF Phase-3.

"After surveying the area recently, it was found that about 80 per cent of the plots have violated rules. The Deputy Commissioner has been instructed to take action against all these violators as per rules. If necessary, an FIR will also be registered against such persons," he added.
