Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 2: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, December 2 reported 20 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.27%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 22,59,554 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,43,640 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,914 out of which 141 are currently active.

As many as 17 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 114079.

The death in the district on Thursday is nil. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,694.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,07,90,470 in fines for 88,976 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,74,287 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 10 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 76,904 out of which 70 are currently active.

A total of 3 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,358 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 286 lives in the district.
