Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 3: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, December 3, reported 10 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 19 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 22,67,195 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,51,271 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,924 out of which 141 are currently active.
As many as 10 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,694.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,92,170 as fine in 88,993 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,78,614 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 19 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 76,923 out of which 82 are currently active.
A total of 7 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,39,634 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 7,23,479 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
