Brahmavar: One dead, four injured in serial accident involving three vehicles

Brahmavar, Dec 5: In a serial accident that occurred on Sunday December 5 at Saibrakatte near here among a goods vehicle, car and a bike, one person died and four others were left injured.

The deceased is identified as Suresh Marakala, resident of Madhuvana. The goods vehicle, which was carrying fish and trying to overtake a JCB, collided with the Swift car which was coming from the opposite direction. Due to the impact of the collision, Suresh Marakala, who was sitting in the left side of the vehicle died on the spot. The driver of the goods vehicle was also injured.

In the meantime, a bike rider also got entangled between these vehicles. He has received severe injuries on his leg. Two other persons travelling in the car also got injured. They are being treated at the hospital.

A case in this connection is registered in Brahmavar police station.

    Speeding kills. People from Karnataka are not used to well versed roads that we have now. We always are used for roads with full of potholes or no roads at all all our life. Speed limit more than 50KM is unheard of. Don't get excited on seeing beautiful roads which we are not used to. Strict speed limits and camera's need to be installed on all the roads to trap the speeding vehicles including nuisance private busses plying between districts.

    This is not an Accident, but just Death/Injuries caused by Negligence and Unsafe Practices while on the Road. In India, this is the most neglected topic both by people and the authorities. Follow Safety First, as your small mistake or negligence can cause serious troubles to your own or the other family members!!! Even authorities should take strict steps to make aware people on Safety First Attitude and make them follow Safe Practices while on the road right from the schooling days. Stay Safe... Stay Healthy... Jai Hind!!!

    Hi. Swift has safety features like ABS, EBD & Brake Assist with seatbelts and airbags. But its scores only 2/5 Stars in Global NCAP. Also lets take into consideration that most of the drivers and riders drive above the speed limit whereas the road that this collision took place, one must not travel over 50 in a Car and 40 on a Bike. I say precaution is better than the cure.

    Ajith, Riyadh ............ Maruthi Suzuki cars are like that only. Indians wants cheap cars. People here don't see the safety. 7 seater Maruthi Suzuki's ERTIGA base price starts from 9 Lakhs. 7 seater Toyota's Innova base price starts from 22 Lakhs. You can make out the difference, why former one is so cheap.
