Karnataka witnesses spike in Covid tally, over 450 fresh cases recorded in single-day

Bengaluru, Dec 5: Karnataka on Sunday, December 5, registered 456 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 7,132. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 256.

As many as 6 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, the death toll in the state has risen to 38,230.

The state recorded 330 discharges from hospitals on Sunday, taking the total discharges to 29,52,708.

So far, Karnataka has seen 29,98,099 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.41% while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.31 %.

As many as 7,71,55,782 people have received vaccination so far.

    I am telling many times to close public, religious, political gatherings for 1 month and put marshals and police everywhere to monitor people should wear mask and social distancing.Govt should put banner or cut out written as 'Omicron is variant of concern spreading in State..It may be dangerous...Please wear mask....' in every public place..So that people will fear and they will wear mask by seeing the poster or banner or cut put in public place

    Exactly, increased tests bound to give increased number of cases but not in hospitals (asymptomatic) too are considered along with false positives. After December the RTPCR test is derecognised in US as it gives more false positives and negatives too depending on the number of cycles used in the labs. Below 30 = Negative, Over 35 = Positive and the infection is so dangerous it is asymptomatic and only a test shows he is carrier of something that's in the environment even before human race came into this world. As there is no place to store all the vaccines produced a marketing promo is initiated.
