Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 5: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, December 5, reported 13 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 5 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 22,81,850 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,65,891 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,959 out of which 147 are currently active.
As many as 15 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,695.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,08,00,770 as fine in 89,079 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,88,669 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 5 new cases were reported on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 76,936 out of which 78 are currently active.
A total of 3 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. Coronavirus has claimed 477 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,42,309 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 7,36,167 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
