Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 7: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, December 7, reported 14 new coronavirus cases and 1 death while Udupi registered 2 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 22,92,475 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,76,500 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,975 out of which 133 are currently active.
As many as 18 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,698.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,08,60,270 as fine in 89,663 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,94,381 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 3 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 76,941 out of which 68 are currently active.
A total of 10 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. Coronavirus has claimed 477 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,45,029 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 7,48,291 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
