Udupi, Dec 9: "Everyone has the right to choose their food. The food habit practiced in their houses should not be changed. Children will not be aware of it. If the government distributes eggs to children in schools, it will be a wrong message given to the society. Instead of providing eggs to the children, provide money to them," said Vishwaprasanna Theertha of Pejawar Math.
He said, “The intention of the schools is to provide education. The government should not interfere to change the lifestyle. The government should not create caste discrimination. This is a request.”
On a family of four losing their lives in Mangaluru, he said, “Four people lost their life due to conversion activities in Mangaluru. A family is lost due to conversion. No one should indulge in such work. Conversion should be opposed through a proper law. No one will object if anyone gets converted out of his own will. But, forceful conversion should be stopped. The government should stop this through a proper law.”
Speaking on chief of defence staff, Gen Bipin Rawat's death, Swamiji said, “He lost his life while he was in the service of the country. His death is a great loss to the nation.”
