Mangaluru, Dec 12: The Mulky police on Sunday December 12 apprehended a man for allegedly sexually harassing a woman who came to buy footwear from his shop.
As per the complaint, the woman visited the man's footwear store located at Talipady in Kinnigoli on Sunday afternoon. She tried on several pairs of footwear but was not happy with any.
The accused, identified as Shamshuddin, the owner of the store, showed her different varieties of footwear, but she did not like any of them. He then told her that he would show her more pairs and led her into a compartment located inside the store.
He then allegedly sexually harassed the woman by groping her.
The woman, distressed by the incident, approached the Mulky police and lodged a case against the shop owner.
The police swung into action and took Shamshuddin into custody.
A case has been registered in Mulky police station.
