Sullia, Dec 13: A person died after having been gored by a bullock that had been tethered for grazing. This incident happened on the evening of Saturday December 11 at Kodiyadka in Murulya near Bellare in the taluk.
The victim of this incident was Kittanna Gowda Kodiiyadka (55) from Poode, Murulya village. He had tethered his bullock in the farm for grazing. In the evening, he reportedly went near the bullock to unleash it and bring it back to the cattle shed when it suddenly gored him with its horns. Kittannan Gowda, who suffered grave injuries, died on the spot.
A person who passed by the spot of the tragic incident on Sunday morning saw that Kittanna was lying on the ground. A closer look revealed that the bullock was tethered nearby. He went near the spot and saw that Kittanna was not alive. Later, the family was informed and Bellare police were alerted. The police went to the spot and made enquiries. The body of the deceased was brought to Sullia government hospital where post-mortem was performed.
The decreased was unmarried and has left behind brothers and sisters.
