Baroda: Gujarat Billavara Sangha issues insurance policies for its community members

Baroda, Dec 13: Gujarat Billavara Sangha issued health insurance policies to its community members and distributed scholarships for higher studies to its students in a programme held at Baidyashree cultural auditorium Alkapur on December 12. The book ‘Sirikanda’ of the Rani Abbakka Tulu research center, Bantwal was released by the Chief guest, retired professor Dr Tukarama Poojary.

GBS president Vishwanath Poojary Bardoli presided over the programme. Senior businessman of Surath, Shivarama B Shetty lighted the lamp. Gujarat Tulu Sangha Baroda president Shashidhar B Shetty released the ‘Sirikanda’ book. Rani Abbakka Kendra secretary and professor Dr Ashalatha Tukaram Poojary, Tulu Sangha Ankleshwar president Ravinath Shetty, Ankleshwar based businessman Ajith Shetty, Sadananda Ameen Bannanje, Shobha Dayanand Bontra who were on the dais as guests of honor distributed scholarships and health insurance policies.

GBS honorary president Dayananda Bontra, former president Mohan C Poojary, ex-president Manoj C Poojary, vice president V D Ameen, Vasudev Poojary, Sadashiva Poojary, Harish Poojary, Lokayya Poojary, honorary chief secretary Vasu V Suvarna, honorary chief treasurer Sudesh Y Kotian, joint secretary Dayananda Salian, Joint treasurer Ravi Salian, women’s wing president Saritha Somanath Poojary, convener Rohidas Poojary, Prabhaker Poojary, Ramesh Poojary, Harish Poojary and Chandrika Kotian who were on the dais were felicitated by guests along with chief convener Jinaraj Poojary.

Amita Vishwanath, Nutan Sham Suvarna Pune, Sadashiva Vapi, Hithesh Kumar Shankerpura, Rajendra Rai, office bearers and executive committee members of GBS were present.

Prema Poojary, Bhavya Poojary, Nischita N Poojary and Jayashree Poojary sang the prayer. Vishwanath Poojary welcomed and introduced the guests. Laxman Poojary gave details about the scholarships. Vasu V Suvarna compered the programme. Sarita Somanath rendered a vote of thanks. Members of the sangha presented variety entertainment and the Umesh Mijar team performed the Telikeda Gonchal programme.
