Belagavi, Dec 14: Rural development and panchayat raj minister K S Eshwarappa, accused the Congress of trying to transform India into another Pakistan.
Eshwarappa, who is here to take part in the legislature session, was speaking to the media on Monday December 13. When referring to the proposed bill to ban religious conversions, he charged the Congress with making all out efforts to turn India into Pakistan. He said he will question both Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar on this issue on the floor of the house.
He wanted to know whether the Congress party is unaware of the fact that the Hindus in Pakistan have been reduced to just three percent from the earlier 24 percent. He stressed that the religious conversion prohibition act will be implemented at any cost to stop forcible conversion or conversion by offering some kind of a lure. He said that an act to stop Love Jihad will also be tabled.
On the issue of Rahul Gandhi claiming himself to be a Hindu, he said he is happy with it. At the same time, he said that this is a part of the gimmick played by Rahul during the election time to get publicity and votes both from the Hindus and the Muslims.
