Mumbai, Dec 15: An airport cargo loader ‘fell asleep’ in the cargo area of an IndiGo aircraft in Mumbai that flew to Abu Dhabi, according to sources.
Officials informed that a loader fell asleep in the cargo compartment of the Mumbai-Abu Dhabi flight after the loading of baggage. It is said that he woke up after the aircraft took off from the Mumbai airport.
Later, the medical examination of the loader was conducted by Abu Dhabi authorities. The examination revealed that his physical condition was stable and normal.

The handler was sent back to Mumbai as a passenger on the same aircraft after getting the requisite clearances from the authorities in Abu Dhabi, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials said.
"We are aware of the incident and the requisite authorities have been informed. The matter is under investigation. The personnel of the airline involved in the incident have been off-rostered pending an investigation,” IndiGo said in a statement.
Aviation safety regulator DGCA has taken note of the incident and initiated an investigation into it.
