Riyadh: First batch of Saudi aid arrives in Afghanistan

Riyadh, Dec 17: Saudi aid airlift mission supporting the people of Afghanistan started on Thursday, December 16 as the first plane reached Kabul.

The flight carried 1647 food baskets and 192 shelter bags. The operation involves six relief planes carrying food weighing 197 tonnes and shelter packages as per the information relayed by Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, general supervisor of KS relief aid.

This aid is being carried out under the directives of King Salman and Crown prince of the kingdom. In addition, 200 trucks carrying food bags will also reach Pakistan for Afghans who are sheltered there.
