Kuwait: Ballerines Stage Saptam Musical Extravaganza

Kuwait, Nov 27: Kuwait’s premiere performer group ‘Ballerines’ staged its hallmark event 'Ballerine’s Showcase 2010,' titled 'Saptam' at the American International School, Dr Kamil Al Rayes Theater- Hawally on Friday November 26 at 6.30 pm.
'Saptam- the Destiny' which was performed with over 70 local artistes was dedicated to Konkani musical legend late Wilfy Rebimbus. Ballerine’s school of dance has been conducting the programme to give a platform for its students to display their talent.
Saptam was about seven friends Dev, Rahul, Maya, Sarah, Raj, Aditi and Sonali who plan to meet after ten years of their college life. When they meet, they turn out to be an author, politician, social worker, family person, photographer, fashion designer and a teacher.
This was illustrated through a dance drama focusing on the career they chose. Sudhi Fronteiro wrote the story and directed the stage programme.
The imagination and creativity was much appreciated by audience. The program consisted of tribal dance, political issues, youth affairs, family drama, college life, childhood, city life, eye donation, tribute to Michael Jackson, and fashion show.
The visiting artists Joel Rebello and Darrell Mascarenhas entertained the audience with Hindi, English and Konkani songs in intervals.
The director of Ballerine’s Sudhi Fronteiro felicitated the sponsors Almarai, Dr Sneh Lata Goel, KTS, Al Yasra, Helen Pinto, Gulf Bank, Al Sayer Group and Morad Yusuf Behbehani.
The motto of Ballerine's is “Entertainment at its Best” which aims for training students in dance, fashion shows, acting and singing.
