Mangalore, Dec 1: Sr Mary Frances of the Blessed Sacrament celebrated her diamond jubilee of religious life at Cloistered Carmel, Kankanady, here on Wednesday December 1.

She joined the Cloistered Carmel after her studies in St Agnes College at the age of 19. She took her vows on December 3, 1950.

Recalling her journey, she spoke of her siblings and said that of the four girls and five boys, she was the one who was called to religious life. She is the only surviving child of the parents Francis Pereira and Stella Pereira. Seven of them were born in Uganda and two in India. Her siblings were working in Uganda.

Fr Claude D’Souza was the main celebrant, concelebrated by Fr Henry Sequeira, Fr Valerian D’Souza, Fr Nelson Pinto, Fr William Barrocos and Fr Stany Vas.

Dear Sr. Mary Francis (Aunty Elsie),

We are extremely happy and proud to see you looking so beautiful, with that charming and magnanimous smile at the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. We see the reflection of Jesus in your eyes. Your hands show how much your have toiled to see that the needs of all your colleagues in the Cloitered are met. Your generous heart always beats for each one of us. You are the most priceless gem of the Pereira family and you take the place of our parents who are no more. We love you. Marguerite

I have known Sister Mary Francis for the past several years. She is lovable and loved and every one who comes in contact with her is deeply moved by her ways, manners and dedicated life.

She has a charming smile for any one who visits The Convent. She is a friend of all and is always ready to help with prayers for the needy.

My wife - Irene and all the members of my family have a great regard for this wonderful and kind soul. May she live to celebrate at least her platinum jubilee. Irene, my children and I join scores of people in congratulating this fine nun - a person of God.

CONGRATULATIONS TO LOVING SR. MARY FOR CELEBRATING DIAMOND JUBLIEE OF YOUR RELIGIOUS LIFE - A LIFE FILLED WITH SILENCE & PRAYERS AND JOY ATTACHED TO IT.
CLOISTERED SISTERS OFFER VOLUNTARILY LIFETIME CLOSNESS TO THE LORD TO HEAR, SEE, READ, OBEY AND PLEAD WITH THE LORD AND NOT WITH THE WORLD. WORLD HAS NOT CLOSED THEM BUT RATHER “THIS GATE IS TO KEEP THE WORLD OUT, NOT TO KEEP US IN” SAID ONE SISTER CELESTE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, EXPLAINING THAT CLOISTERED TO PROTECT THEIR LIFE OF PRAYERS.
PRAYERS OF THE RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE IS MORE EFFECTIVE. I HAVE SEEN AFTER PRAYERS OF SISTERS CLOISTERE,MIRACLE BEFORE MY EYES....HOW A ALMOST DEAD BODY CAME BACK TO LIFE (NOW HE IS A SECULAR PRIEST) IN FR. MULLERS HOSPITAL BACK IN 1978, ST. FATIMA WARD. CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THE WORLD, SISTERS AND US TOO. WE JOIN OUR PRAYERS WITH YOU JOY OF DIAMOND JUBLIEE.. ABSOLUTELY DEDICATED LIFE TO THE SUPREME LIVING GOD. YOURS IN CHRIST, ANTONY, FLAIVE, AFFNEY, ARRON.

Hearty Congratulations dear Sister Mary Francis. You look so good like a 50 years old. You smile coming from God shows that you are always with Him. Great going. You have served the community of Cloistered Carmel as Prioress and holding other important posts for so many years, and you look so full of life and do not look tired at all. I wish you God's choicest blessings and many more years of life so that you can touch the hearts of people who come with all kinds of burden and sufferings to your convent. I cannot forget Cloistered Carmel as I was born again Carmelite in your beautiful Chapel. Thanks and again have a grand celebration. Fr. Rudolf V. D'Souza OCD (Madanthyar)

Sr Mary Frances has dedicated her life to God and by reading this article I would like to say that Sr. Mary is a shining example in our globalised and materialistic world.
Sr. Mary and all the other nuns lead a simple life of prayers and work at Cloistered Carmel, Kankanady. Prayers are important in our world to open the hearts of human beings and to enable them to do good deeds.
Dear Sr. Mary thank you for your prayers and your life as a nun.
Reading this article gives me hope for a better world with equal chances for all.
