Lokayukta Files FIR Against Minister Katta, Son, Associates

Bangalore, Dec 2 (PTI): In fresh embarrassment to the BJP government in the state, corruption watchdog Lokayukta has filed another FIR against Minister for IT and BT, Katta Subrahmanya Naidu, his corporator-son Jagadish Naidu and their eight associates in a multi-crore land scam.

The charges against them include forgery, cheating, benami transactions, creating false documents, creating fictitious firms, among others, Lokayukta Santosh Hegde said.

The associates against whom FIR has been filed include companies where Subrahmanya Naidu and his son are partners.

Some more associates, including members of private firm and government officials, would also be included soon.Hegde said there have also been instances of a company having entered into an MoU with other firms even before land was alloted to them.

One of the firms also paid Rs 87 crore to one Indu builders whose identity is being investigated.

Lokayukta is also probing the role of other family members of Naidu.

In September, Jagadish Naidu was arrested while he was allegedly trying to influence a witness in a case pertaining to irregularities in payment of compensation to land owners by Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB).

The Yeddyurappa government is already facing land scam allegations including denotification of land and allotment of prime urban areas to the Chief Minister's family members who have however returned them after the charges surfaced.

Yeddyurappa was on the verge of losing his position at the height of the crisis triggered by the charges but managed to get a fresh lease of life after the party top brass decided to give him another chance.

    Mr Nithin Poojary, Mangalore\UK sacking people is a big drama by congress party to become good in front of the people, but what about those scam money. I think those are deposited into the swiss bank and sonia amma and rahul beta are having share in that.

    Dont worry about Mr. Janardhan Poojary he is not a politician he is a leader who dosent need power to rule,He never compromised with his principles, anyone cannot put any allegation against him. Winning election is not a big deal nowadays be corrupt even you can win election. Iam proud of Janardhan Poojary who gave importance to sincerity. Can u pick one non corrupt leader in BJP other than Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

    I hope in this forum no one supports the 2G. CWG scams or any other scams , but we can find few supporting the Land scams of Ktaka and its ministers .
    If we have so much corruptions in our system , then it is only because of blind supporter. At the same time We proud that We have personalities like Santhosh Hegde and Ashiwini K from the same land.
    Being a right citzen it is our duty to voice against the corruption irrespective of caste and community.All should came out from mindset that this land will have only development from a perticular party.

    Advani says he is concerned about Karanataka.But we have seen this that Eddy has no respect for Advani or Nithin Gadkari or sushma swaraj.Eddy is a head ache for BJP now and they will take action 500 after zilla panchayat election.

    It is really sad that we are the responsible citizens are acting blind, even after so many scandals unfolded in just 2 years of BJP ruling. God knows how more to go and how many will be buried secretly. This is really shame that minister for IT and BT such an important protfolio (silicon city) is been handled by a corrupt minister like Katta and our so called Shrimaaaaaaan Yeddi is not even seems to be bothered, as he is busy visiting temples and praying for his seat.

    Now our disciplined party supporters will say Congress and JDS have done in the past whats wrong if our BJP leaders involved in scandals. But in Congress if any leader is involved in any scandal will be told to leave the office, But our discplined party needs discplined leaders like Yeddy, Naidu, Ashok, Reddy, Sriramulu etc etc.
    I was watching Advanis press conference today regarding Telecom scam where he was accusing the central government, while the reporters asked him about the Karnataka Govt his answer was "I AM CONCERNED ABOUT KARNATAKA" and he escaped. Jai ho BJP
