Mangaluru, Jan 1: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar visited Aditala, one of the seven Koragajja shrines at Kuthar and offered prayers on Friday December 31.

Shashi Kumar had made a vow at this shrine seeking divine help to crack the case of desecration of Koragajja shrines and other Hindu religious places by unknown miscreants.

The commissioner was accompanied by city south division ACP Ranjith Bandaru. He also had a chat with locals for some time.

Speaking to the media, Shashikumar said, “When I took charge as city police commissioner, the first desecration act of Koragajja Daivasthana occurred. Later 18 similar acts occurred and the culprit could not be traced. Now Devadas Desai has confessed to all the crimes.”

Ullal inspector Sandeep was present.

After our politicians even our civil servants are after Gods and temples. Agreed and understand, they do it purely for vote bank politics. There is nothing wrong but why do it for publicity? At the end religion is one’s very private and personal matter.

This applies to some of the students in Udupi. Religion is private matter and adhering to the rules should be religiously done. Students not focusing their study instead learning to break rules.

This is baffling; sometime ago a few miscreants were caught for desecrating a particular daivasthana; and now they have produced one new guy who has volunteered to show each and every place he has desecrated with pinpoint accuracy by mentioning the name of some other God who he thinks to be very much powerful! Somehow the story looks scripted; the new accused is either a psychopath or very brilliant! This is only a personal opinion!

priests/religious functionaries should counsel the culprit and make him a normal man. Religious bigotry is not good (whether hindu, muslim, christian, sikh or jain).... this is a case where religious extremist view has made a man mentally imbalanced...

How can you rely on his mere statements? How does one know whether he is mentally stable or he would not renege on his confessions in the courts?

oye, mister... whenever religious extremism is found among christians, catholics make a statement (true), that catholics are not part of this... other denominations... by all accounts this man devadas desai belongs to "other denominations"... even catholics do not agree for some of the activities of "other sects/denominations"... are you not aware of "lame will walk", "blind will see" type of congregations...

Lame also walk or blind also will see, through his prophets, priests or preachers by His Holy Spirit, for God, Everything is possible one who created the Universe and placed the Sun not one meter above or one meter below so humanity not get freezed or get fried. Time is almost here for return of Christ so above mentioned miracles are expected. As a noble King doesn't want to see his people or things broken on his visit or return but perfect so also GOD. This is not extremism but common or basic logic.

kbrji, are you okay? Read my post again and again and then give a very relevant contextual reply by removing your horse blinders! FYI, I do not believe in any Gods or organized religions, so what you have mentioned is just a figment of your imagination, which keep to yourself!

I am glad that he conducted the investigation fairly. No matter whichever the religion the criminal belongs to, wat he did is wrong and needs to be punished and if possible reformed also. Ips shashikumar is an example of a good hindu/human. Just being a bhakth does not make u a good hindu. One needs to follow hindu scriptures to be a good hindu. And im sure no scripture in the world allows to hate different people

Catch some mafia, like land/sand/quarry then go to temple, don't go just for doing your normal job.

Taking on mafias is not a big job for the police provided their godfathers (politicians) take off their hands of ashirvad from their heads.
