Bengaluru, Jan 1: “The government is taking all steps for upkeeping the cattle and protection of cows. Discussion are on to produce soap and shampoos from gomutra and oil paint from cow dung,” said Prabhu Chauhan, minister for animal husbandry.
Chauhan further said, “The construction work of goshalas in the state is picking pace. Rs 50 lac is sanctioned for building Goshala in every district. Not only building goshalas but making them self-reliant in the lines of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra is our aim.”
The minister who is back from the tour of three states said in a press conference at the Vidhana Soudha that more than 100 products will be produced from the cow dung and gomutra.
Chauhan also said that some goshalas of the state will be picked for trial of this project and based on the pros and cons the project will be implemented in other goshalas also.
The minister also said that chief minister Basavaraj Bommai has given the go ahead to fill the 458 vacant positions in the animal husbandry department. Actually 1083 positions are vacant. However, Bommai has given permission to fill 458 right now,” he said.
