One cycle (vehicle) for one person and hence 1000 cycles for 1000 people. This 1:1 ratio is running since ages. But, why not any cycle company or agrresive individual is soupporting an idea where a cycle (manual vehicle) which can carry more than one i.e 3,5,7,9 and 12 people with the same energy or less than the needed to ride a bicyle? It is amazing!

Power assist cycling mean augmentation of human energy for pedaling with electric assistance. Peak power requirements are met with electric assistance and so riding becomes more pleasurable. I was riding a recumbent tricycle with power assistance. - Govind

to add manu's comment, roads and footpaths too.. they are almost non existant in mangalore, bike paths can be added in parallel, but they often end up getting encroached by 2 wheelers. like its happening in pune

What a beautiful site, it reminds me the Amsterdam streets. But this is not possible in our country because of our nature of thinking. Corrupt system, indiscipline people, corrupt politicians ………

The cause of the rally sounds great. Its really an awesome idea to bring into the notice of young minds. Each and everyone of us should understand the benifites of a bycecle ride. To have a bycecle tracks in our city is a far idea, rather I wish that our govt could provide us a better roads.
