Kundapur: 32-year-old jumps into Pancha Gangavali river, rescued

Kundapur, Jan 4: Fishermen from the Kharvi community rescued a youth after he jumped into Pancha Gangavali river from the bridge here at Herikudru on Tuesday January 4.

It is said that the youth, Mahendra (32), who is from Mangaluru, came to the bridge by foot. After reaching the bridge, the youth was seen moving on the bridge for a few minutes.

He reportedly jumped into the river after a while. The fishermen of Kharvi community who saw this, immediately rushed to rescue the youth in a boat. The youth who was in an unconscious state, was brought back to the bank of the river.

Later, the youth was admitted to Kundapur government hospital. Further details about the youth and the reason for his extreme step are yet to be known.
