Mangaluru, Jan 6: Condemning the breach in the security during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Punjab, members of Yuva Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Dakshina Kannada staged a protest in front of the District Congress Committee office in Mallikatte on Thursday January 6.
The protesters raising slogans gathered in front of the Congress office. In the protest, a Congress worker waived the Congress flag in front of the protesters. As a result, a verbal scuffle broke out between the Congress and BJP party workers.
Police intervened and took the situation under control.
In response, condemning BJP Yuva Morcha's protest in front of Congress office, Congress workers under the leadership of former MLC Ivan D'Souza organized 'BJP office Chalo' march to BJP office.
The protesters had planned the protest in front of the BJP office. As protesters took out the march to the BJP office, police intervened and stopped the protesters. As result, Congress workers staged protests sitting on the road.
Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar visited the spot. The police detained the protesters.
