Bengaluru: School files complaint against parents for falsely alleging promotion of religion

Bengaluru, Jan 7 (IANS): A private international school in Bengaluru has lodged a complaint against the parents of a second standard student who alleged forceful promotion of a religion by her maths teacher in class, police said on Friday.

According to Mico Layout police, the school authorities have lodged a miscellaneous complaint which is non-cognisable and requested to call upon the parents and counsel them.

The school has told the police that the parents had uploaded a video on social media accusing the teacher of forcing a religious custom on students.

In the video, the girl claims that her teacher asked her to pray to Allah.

The girl says the class could not memorise the things in money chapter. So, next day, the teacher made them pray to Allah. When they told their teacher that they are Hindus, the teacher told them Allah was a better god.

The school management conducted an inquiry and spoke to the student as well as the teacher.

CCTV footage of the class was also checked. After the inquiry, the allegations of the parents were found to be untrue.

Is the teacher a Muslim,? That should have been the first line of inquiry instead of dismissing the plaint.

If you do things in the name of God, don't expect Him to come and protect you. So better to leave God out of the equation and make God a personal pursuit.

international schools are a big humbug... don't be taken in... there can't be anything in international standard... except schools run by embassies of US/Canada etc. how can a country have international schools when the country is at bottom of human development index, road safety index etc. etc. etc. and on top of pollution index, hunger index etc. etc. etc.

School commits mistake and school itself does inquiry and finds it to be untrue. Very nice. How about subjecting itself to an independent inquiry? The parents must fight this because, there are more than one students who are likely to be witness. However, like all other schools, this school will also escape by the provision in law that minor as witness is probably not admissible in the court. I saw the video, but decided not to forward it. I somehow found it genuine.

Mr Mayya if you so sure about school at fault why dont you join the parents in this matter and support them . And if you saw the video and if you think it is genvine why you afraid to share with others ? It is so easy to blame any school or teachers or authorities but it is so difficult to run an education institution now a days still is one type of service to the humanity .Please dont become " gumpina govinda "

Dear Ganapathi Bhat Mangalore and also others who are so much convinced of the School, a) School has lodged a miscellaneous complaint which is non-cognisable. They do not want to contest the allegation. So, they want the parents to let it go. b) Why some organization, don't we have police department, Courts etc., which can conduct independent inquiry? c) Some Bangalore schools are notorious. Lot of crap do not come out. Especially schools opened for profit only. Very often they play with the marks and put allegations on the kids itself to suppress their wrongdoing. This one is an international school. So expect the fees also to be of international standards. So money is not an issue. Why not contest strongly and bring the parents to justice for tarnishing the image of the school if it is fully convinced of its self serving inquiry? Why file a petty complaint when the video has gone viral?
