President Pratibha Patil Arrives Amid Tight Security

Mangalore, Dec 8:
President Pratibha Patil arrived at Bajpe Airport here on Wednesday December 8 at 3.40 pm by a special IAF helicopter.
 
On Thursday December 9 she will participate in the World Konkani Cultural Convention, scheduled to be held at Nehru Maidan.

Governor H R Bhardwaj and his wife, governor of Uttarakhand Margaret Alva, higher education minister V S Acharya, district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, mayor Rajani Dugganna, president of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat K Santhosh Kumar Bhandary, police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, Mandd Sobhann president Louis J Pinto, co-ordinator Stany Alvares, Roy Castelino among others were present to receive the President at the airport.

The President headed to Manipal by helicopter where she will participate in the 10th convocation of Manipal University.
 
On Thursday, 25 Konkani organizations/institutions from around the world that have enriched Konkani culture in their region will be honored by the President.

President Pratibha Patil arrived here in an IAF special chopper on Wednesday December 8 evening, to attend the graduation day ceremony of Manipal University (MU) at KMC Greens.

Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj, Manipal University chancellor Dr Ramdas Pai, pro-chancellor Professor H S Ballal, zilla panchayat president Gladys D’Almeida, district-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya, DC Hemalata P, town councillor Kiran Kumar, Western Range IGP Alok Mohan, SP Praveen Madhukar Pawar, Ram Narayan and others welcomed the President.

    Unbelieveable that one of the politician is even ready to touch or even clean the feet of somebody just bcoz she is the president or a powerful person. Let's take it as a mark of respect. Would he do it the same to any other ordinary old lady. No to all others he would show that i am a politician and more important man than you. I am in white clothes so he would expect all others to touch his feet. I guess he is Santosh Kumar Bandary. Disgrace

    No photograph of handing over of flowers by those people who standing with flowers in plastic bag who are wearing chappals. Are they allowed to meet or the ministers collected from them and they gave.
