Dubai: Billawas Gear up for 13th Anniversary Bash

Dubai, Dec 8: Guests arrived at the Dubai airport here on Wednesday December 8 to attend the 13th anniversary celebration of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates scheduled to be held on Friday December 10 at Jumeirah Ballroom Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai.

President of Rani Abbakka Tulu Adhyayana Kendra Prof Thukaram Poojary will grace the occasion as the chief guest. He will be accompanied by his wife Prof Ashalatha who is the vice-president of Rani Abbakka Tulu Adhyana Kendra. Chennakeshava trustee of Guru Charitable Trust will be the guest of honour. Many community leaders from Mangalore and other parts of the Gulf have also started arriving.







Mohan Raj, a noted choreographer-cum-dancer has already landed and started choreographing the local artistes for the show.  He too will be performing some classical fusion dances at the programme.

Ramesh Kulshekar, a well-known Yakshagana artiste also arrived on Wednesday evening. He will be performing in Hari Sankalpa Yakshagana as one of the Devis. He is the manager of Sasi Hitlu Mela and is coordinating with Prabhakar Suvarna to present Hari Sankalpa in Dubai.

Many community leaders and achievers in various fields such as education, social service, performing arts etc will be felicitated with awards during the event.

The entertainment team lead by Jagannath Bellare under the leadership of president Mohan Attavar is all set to host the grand event.

The day-long celebration in a traditional ambience will include vibrant dances depicting Tuluva culture, Yakshagana, traditional dances, DJ music and many more presentations performed by young and energetic youths of the Billawa community.

Several surprise performances are also in store by Billawa ladies and elders. Another attraction will be ‘Tulunada Vaibhava’ an audio/visual live show which will take the audience on a tour of Tulunadu.

    I wish billawas dubai 13th anniversary all the success. I also wish my dear sir Honorable Mr.Tukaram poojary to deliver the goods in this function and make us proud. Hats off to you my dear sir. I humbly request organizers to make his efforts of decade to organize and streamline our culture to reach our people. He is one of the most unselfish person we can find in our place. I request our people to honor him at most respect and help and contribute financially to Rani Abbakka Tulu Adhyayana Kendra and make it a success story for the sake of our culture and display our past to future generations. At least he has the guts & heart to help our society and display our cultural heritage. I believe that our Dubai people will not let him down this time financially also. We all know he is spending his earnings to do the good things for our culture and new generation. Once again wish the organizers all the best to make the program success and send a message to our people back home.
