Puttur, Jan 9: Uppinangady police arrested two people who absconded after attempting to kill three people after barging into a fish selling shop near here on December 6, 2021.
The arrested are identified as Sarfuddin (31), resident of Kuppetti Baitaru Mane in Tannirupantha village of Beltangady and Mohammed Irfan (24), resident of Kolpe Kolambe Mane of Konalu village in Kadaba taluk.
The accused had raided the fish selling shop as a revenge on the assault incident that took place on December 5 at Ilanthila and injured Ashok alias Anil Kumar, his elder brother Mohandas and customer Mahesh with a sword.

The police had taken one person into custody in the same case and three others of PFI for helping in the raid on December 14 after which PFI had protested whole day at Uppinangady and police had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the protesters.
As the assailants wore hoods over their head while carrying out the attack, police could not ascertain the culprits. However, Nandakumar and his team of police arrested Sinan and on the basis of the information provided by him 14 accused were identified.
Later, in the developments that followed, responsibility of arresting the accused was given to Uppinangady sub inspector Kumar Kamble.
