Udupi: 'Covid care centres proposed in taluk headquarters' - Sunil Kumar

Udupi, Jan 11: Minister, Sunil Kumar, said that instructions have been issued to set up Covid care centres in the taluk headquarters in the district, and that there is a proposal to shift infected persons to such centres. He added that houses will be sealed down based on infections.

"We will provide food grains to the needy through the gram panchayats. We are performing tests on 8,000 persons every day on an average. The task of vaccinating the people in the age group of 15 and 18 years is going on at a brisk pace," he explained.

On behalf of the district Kambala Samiti, a memorandum was submitted to the district administration on this occasion, seeking to allow Adve Nandikoor Kambala to be held as per arrangements already made. The deputy commissioner suggested to the concerned to postpone the Kambala date to February.

The district administration said that in the light of increasing incidents of coronavirus infections, detailed discussions were held on the desirability of holding offline classes. It added that a decision on the issue will be taken soon at a meeting to be held for this purpose. Deputy commissioner M Kurma Rao, stated that in the light of some coronavirus cases found in schools, discussions were held with the ministers and legislators from the district and that it has been proposed to take a firm decision if the cases in schools go up. He stated that necessary precautionary measures have been undertaken in schools where the infection has been found, and the task of maintaining cleanliness and formation of containment zones is moving ahead.

    According to ICMR house members of the patient will not be tested, and after 7 days quarantine even THE PATIENT will not be tested!
