Bengaluru, Jan 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called State Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on phone at 4.30 pm on Tuesday and inquired about his health in view of being tested positive for Covid 19.
The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that two of his family members too have tested positive.
According to Chief Minister’s office, the Prime Minister advised Bommai and his family members to get appropriate treatment.
The telephone conversation lasted for about 5 minutes, the Chief Minister’s office said.
Bommai informed Modi that he was holding a virtual meeting with technical experts and officials on the Covid situation.
The Chief Minister also briefed the Prime Minister on the situation arising out of the Covid pandemic and that the vaccination drive has been intensified.
The State Government will decide on the next course of action based on the advice of the medical and technical experts, Bommai told the Prime Minister.
The Chief Minister also informed the Prime Minister that he was holding preliminary meetings in the virtual mode and getting prepared for the virtual meeting convened by Modi on January 13, the Chief Minister’s office said.
