Mangaluru/Udupi, Jan 11: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, January 11, reported 583 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 250 cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,18,400 out of which 1,872 are currently active.
As many as 94 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,705.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,12,56,930 as fine in 93,056 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
A total of 250 new cases were reported on Tuesday. Total active cases has risen to 1342.
A total of 66 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. Coronavirus has claimed 491 lives in the district so far.
So far 10,14,180 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 8,08,154 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
