Karnataka's daily Covid tally shoots up, crosses 25,000-mark

Bengaluru, Jan 13:Karnataka on Thursday, January 13 registered 25005 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 1,15,733. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 18,374.

As many as 8 death due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Thursday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 3 deaths, the death toll in the state has risen to 38,397.

The state recorded 2,363 discharges from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total discharges to 29,70,365.

So far, Karnataka has seen 31,24,524 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 12.39% while the case fatality rate for the day is 0.03%.

As many as 9,09,74,681 people have received vaccination so far.

    Dear state administrators, let common sense prevail and let common man live: 1. No need of any lockdown or curfew. 2. Strictly enforce wearing of masks in public places. 3. Do not grant permission for mass gatherings of any nature. 4. Violators to be strictly fined. 5. Hire more police and traffic personnel to help enforce these measures. 6. Will help provide employment to many youth who deserve and and are desperately seeking employment. 7. This will certainly help reduce the burden on some families rather than just filling the pockets of politicians and big pharma companies. Very likely my request will fall on deaf ears. But staying with the slightest glimmer of hope that these suggestions somehow make their way to the people concerned. Thank you.

    To last years' (2021) seasonal common cold, given new greek name for bigpharma to push and give their deadly BOOSTERS after the covid vaccination, to GENERATE another DEADLY STRAIN, for it Tester's frequent fear lathi charge required ?

    With so many carona cases goverment holding pg neet document verifications of documents of doctors from all over India in bangalore from 17th of Jan now we will have all those doctors who are ready to work infested with carona and also spread carona all over India as bangalore epicenter of 3rd wave why not online verification of document and help in containing this epidemic please do something and help control this pandemic

    I told many times that put police to stop all this pada yatra, political gatherings and large gatherings during 3rd wave...Police should put huge fines and should put FIR on the people who are organizing large gatherings...If the govt had put police during weekend lockdown, then these type of gatherings should not happened. Also police should shout in mic that Omicron variant is dangerous variant in public places and cities and villages
