Record 1241 Entries Received for 'Hyssna Miss Daijiworld' Contest

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Dec 12: Even as the deadline for 'Hyssna Miss Daijiworld' contest ended on Friday December 10, a flood of entries from beautiful faces around the world have gone on to prove the immense popularity of the contest, thus making it all the more exciting.

A record 1241 entries have been received, both through online submission and by courier/post. The first edition of Miss Daijiworld in 2005-06 had received 400 entries, which means that there has been more than a three-fold increase in the number of contestants this time, a fact that serves testimony to Daijiworld's exponential growth and the overwhelming affection showered by its wonderful readers.

What makes it even more interesting is that participation has been from across communities, religions and countries, and most surprisingly of all, not restricted to Indians alone. Entries have made their way from over 52 countries, and nationals of Iran, Oman, Pakistan, Nepal, South Africa, Australia and other countries have also tried their luck. However, as per the terms, only entries from Indian nationals spread across the world are valid for the contest.

With so many beautiful ladies to choose from, the panel of judges will have a tough time selecting 10 finalists, who will then be referred to online voting.

Both online voting and judges' decision will be considered in equal proportion while declaring the winner and the runner-up.

The 10 finalists will be announced within the next couple of days.

The winner will be crowned 'Hyssna Miss Daijiworld' and awarded Rs 50,000 cash prize while the runner-up will receive Rs 25,000 cash prize at a high-profile event to be held in celebration of Daijiworld's 10 fruitful years as a pioneer in coastal Karnataka's, and especially Mangalore's media map.

The event is scheduled for January 12, 2011 at 7.00 pm at the prestigious Mumbai Cricket Association club, in which top business community members from around the Gulf and India, who have been there to support Daijiworld every step of the way, along with its team members, well-wishers and other invitees are expected to be present.

Daijiworld is also expected to announce a couple more exciting new projects in the media line, poised to materialize in the near future.
